Reclaimed Lumber
Dimensional lumber salvaged from barns, warehouses, factories, and bridges built when old-growth forests still supplied America's mills. Tighter grain, greater density, and a story in every board.

Why Reclaimed Dimensional Lumber
Old-Growth Density You Can't Buy New
The timber in our reclaimed lumber inventory was originally harvested from first- and second-growth forests 80 to 150 years ago. These trees grew slowly, producing wood with dramatically tighter growth rings — often 15 to 30 rings per inch compared to 4 to 8 in modern plantation-grown softwoods.
That density translates directly to superior performance: higher nail-holding capacity, greater resistance to warping, better sound dampening, and a richer, deeper appearance that no stain or treatment can replicate.
Every board we sell has been de-nailed with hand tools and industrial metal detectors, kiln-dried to 6-8% moisture content, and graded for structural integrity and appearance. We don't sell raw barnwood with nails still in it.

Applications
What Can You Build With It?
Framing & Structure
Reclaimed 2x material meets or exceeds structural grading requirements for most residential framing. Denser old-growth grain means stronger connections and less splitting.
Shelving & Built-Ins
The warm patina and tight grain of reclaimed lumber makes stunning open shelving, built-in bookcases, and kitchen shelf brackets without any staining required.
Furniture Making
Woodworkers prize reclaimed dimensional lumber for tables, benches, bed frames, and desks. The aged character adds depth that new wood simply cannot match.
Trim & Millwork
Baseboard, crown molding, door and window casings milled from reclaimed stock. We can match existing historic trim profiles for restoration projects.
Garden & Outdoor
Raised garden beds, pergola framing, fence rails, and outdoor seating. Species like Cedar and old-growth Fir offer natural weather resistance.
Art & Craft
Sign blanks, picture frames, cutting boards, and mixed-media art pieces. Smaller offcuts and shorts available at reduced pricing for craft use.
Grading Standards
Understanding Reclaimed Lumber Grades
Reclaimed lumber doesn't follow the same grading system as new dimensional lumber from big-box stores. Character marks — nail holes, bolt holes, checking, and surface weathering — are features, not defects.
We grade on a three-tier system: Select (minimal character, tight grain, no structural defects), Standard (moderate character, occasional nail holes and checking, structurally sound), and Rustic (heavy character, weathered surfaces, knots and checking, best for decorative use).
Full Grading Guide →Select Grade
Minimal nail holes, no checking or splits, tight straight grain. Ideal for furniture, fine trim, and visible finish applications. Premium pricing.
Standard Grade
Some nail holes, minor checking, occasional knots. Structurally sound for framing, shelving, and general construction. Our most popular grade.
Rustic Grade
Heavy character marks, weathered surfaces, larger knots, bolt holes. Perfect for accent walls, decorative beams, and projects where patina is prized.
